Our Office

Our Mission

With its international education background, Wenzhou-Kean University is committed to building a smart and green campus and leading technological innovation in serving the country’s Double Carbon Goal. We aim to play a pioneering and leading role in achieving a carbon-neutral society, thereby enhancing our positive impact on the local and global environment. This is a mission we invite the entire WKU community to join us in.

Messages from the Vice Chancellor - Dr. ZHENG Xiaodong

" The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development was adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015, creating a new era of global cooperation to promote sustainable development of the planet. Most of the universities in the world are actively involved in the actions of the agenda for sustainability.

As a Sino-America joint institute, Wenzhou-Kean University was planned with the ideas of ecology, diversity, creativity and smart, to create an international modern Shanshui campus integrated with Campus, Home and Park.

In 2022, WKU joined the carbon neutrality campaign of Chinese university campuses and was successfully rated as one of the Green Universities of Zhejiang Province. To raise awareness of sustainable development on campus, the WKU Green Campus Creation Leading Group joined hands with faculty, staff, and student associations. In addition to implementing sustainable development concepts in campus planning, construction and management, we give full play to the enthusiasm of teachers and students creating sustainability initiatives through Academics and Research, Planning, Operations, and Engagement."
